52 senators choose to keep the filibuster versus 48 that don't not "two".
Remember if the roles flip and there is no filibuster, can you imagine what would happen?
IMPO, GOP would come in and make Texas SB8 the way of the future legally. They would ramp up legislation that could be harmful to the coast lines, because a simple majority is all that is needed. Imagine a laws where the EO's that Trump created would be pushed into law. E.g. strip out the EPA and maybe even penalize those states with renewable preferences and climate change decisions as part of law.
It would become a hot-mess, where laws change every two years.
Another way to look at it is one can try to find 2 or 3 GOP senators out of the pool for the partisanship, and if folks focus less on the left and right fringe and more towards the center maybe we can get a responsive government.
The loss of the WV senator to the DNC cause was more known by McConnell (who lives in a neighboring state) then the DNC party as a whole. The statements from the 2016 election IMPO is the reason all the climate change BBB bill failed.
As for AZ, it is far more conservative then people realize, and the two senators in the pool.
As a Texas Democrat, do you know in the county I am in there is a judge who had a DUI, was convicted with 365 days PROBATED that is adamant he is running to be a judge again. There is no DNC presence, as such the real election is the GOP primary.
The reason for the example is that there are areas in the country where the brand DNC does not exist, and if someone wins like these two senators, they have to make sure their voters are met; otherwise guess what. The seat goes to the GOP.
