A female coworker friend from a dot-com followed this path. She was like Al, there are no decent reliable guys (and she was extremely beautiful and smart and all that), and I want a kid.

She had a beautiful baby girl who is in high school. More power to her, and if women have the means, and the desire for it I strong believe they should go for it.

Her bigger worry was after a health issue a few years ago, and she has been employed and unemployed and all that was due to what would happen to her daughter if she passed.

Luckily she only has a few more years for this to be worried about, and they live full and wonderful lives. The last share I remember is when they went axe throwing together, which I thought was very appropriate for that warrior woman.

As for guys, if the sperm donor view bothers you, realize women are clearly stating they want partners and they truly do want that partner to be a father; however, they can do it alone and do it very well.

She did share with me that she felt it sucked I was never lucky to be a father, but life is what it is. Some folks who wanted kids are never blessed or lucky to have it happen and it happens to men too.
