As long as one researches it and also supporters as an ally the groups they are trying to write about, sure.

But TBH, how can one really write about something without experiencing it in some way shape or form.

When I have attempted queer based poetry, it took quite a bit of effort, and I had to make sure it fit my views as a pansexual in the way I see and desire something (along with what I have read).

The only other way is if (to use an erotic example), if one decideds to write in a gender role reversal sort of erotic / life story (e.g. futa).

Then by it's pure uniqueness it may stand alone as long as the writing is pure and the intent is gold.
