Maybe I am lucky to be Gen X and to have been in Tech where I helped spawn this electronic wasteland from 1999 onwards.

I still chuckle at the experience of having people looking at me strange while surfing on a Nextel phone for yahoo news while stuck in the Bay Area on a Sunday watching my Browns in a San Mateo hotel bar.

Then fast forward 8-10 years, and having people look at me strange for reading a newspaper while at the same bar doing the same thing.

Now, I bring an ereader, for which if I am solo and someone looks like they want to talk, I will put it down and engage.
