Having lived in Indiana for a bunch of years, there are so many places like that where time stood still.

Did you know, that all the Nerve VX gas was destroyed in western central Indiana? We would see military convoys going to the plant that would nuke it away.

I could tell you about the abandoned backroads areas where there were covered bridges, and my running joke but not a joke to guys I worked with was.

We have still births with foals and after birth to discard of. I can drive not more than a mile from my farm dump it, and 24 hours later it is gone from the animals. So if you and your friends need a body gone ... well I am your man (ha joking of course).

That is what people who never lived in places like Indiana and Ohio don't get. Inflation, crashes and economic blight that seed themselves in an area create a situation where things are left unfinished "forever". People believe we will always grow, but as you and I know that isn't always the case.

I moved on to Texas and a few weeks back while picking up a mare in Oklahoma, we passed through Chuck Norris's home town. Oh my goodness we flashed back to Indiana and some of the areas. There was not a grocery store (and it was a small IGA type) 35 minutes one way, one hour our guess for real stores (which was the original HQ of Haliburton or some oil company).

The area still hasn't recovered from the Great Depression (yep 1930s).

We all deserve so much better, and I remember like you the Cleveland area, where development stopped in the 1987-1991 .... and then decayed away ...
