I don't own a gun nor desire too. I have to put animals down on my farm and trust me watching an animals eyes go dark is NOT something awesome (even if they are in pain and dying).

I am pro-2A, because throughout human history governments can not be trusted to protect their citizen and their ability to regulate sucks. (queue up baby formula as a latest example).

So here is my quick suggestion to one of the pillars for this sad reality.

Apply the 1990s Drug and Gun Free Zones for School, and apply it to congress/senate. Use the same security methods that are used in schools to protect the politicans and not the ones used at airports.

In past discussions, I stated federalize the school borders like airports, use the TSA and protect the students like airplanes, and holy fuck you should have seen people attack me for making the students think they were in jail.

In the end, I stated ok you are right ... planes are more important then kids ... gotcha ...

Their response was always gun control.

I stated, our homicide rate is 8 per million (down from 10 per million in the 1990s). In England when they removed guns the homicide rate and death rates skyrocketed to the point that they had to hire so many more cops to police it was amazing.

Then and only then 10-15 years later (going off of memory) did the homicide rate drop. Now in England they are talking about removing knives since the homicide rate is up there.

The issue is multi-faceted and comes down to how we parent children, how we deal with mental health issues, and most importantly how we raise boys to be men. In the latter point, we literally do crap for boys except expell them, who then go lone wolf.

Folks will attempt and say no guns for boys at 18, but then do we remove selective service and military access for boys 18-21 too? Watch the politicians and military lose their shit ...

In the end a full spectrum of things need to be done, since gun control with 2A with Heller and several other lawsuits neutered all gun control rules.

Amendment Change is the only way to fix it, and that means people need to talk, compromise, and work together at a rate of nearly 75% acceptance in this country.

1/2 of America doesn't vote on big things, and if you look at local voting in some areas you get a 10% turnout, so maybe the first thing we do ...

Mandatory voting.

Then on 2A modification, folks that desire gun safety, need to ask what will they give in return for gaining safety with removal of liberty. One can't say you will be safer, concrete things need to be provided in return. E.g. mandatory safety guarantees from police
