I have seen guys like this over the past few decades, and every one of them I got to know was highly damaged in some way.

I personally know if I am single again, the first thing after the mourning of the breakup is to "relax" a bit and reassess. Look at who I dated, what caused the break-up, and recheck what I find attractive and what I desire in the future.

For guys that have had relationships, I recommend it. For guys that haven't ... it works too.

E.g. I desire to improve my cooking, so instead of falling back into my previous trap of eat out ... I figure out how to make a go of eating in regularly. The rest of the adulting things I got down ...

Luckiily, I didn't have the has to be X years above 21 as what got me interested. That is a curse IMO ...
