IMO, you should write a letter for your sister on how and what empty nest feels like. Why? She will experience it in a decade or two, and I believe it may also help you process the milestone/capstone of your parenting experience.

As you work through your evaluating your loves, your hates, your oh my god(dess) that was awesome/sucked moments, may you find the lessons learned so you can enjoy the back half of your life to the fullest.

You were a parent so don't forget it. Now it is time to invest in your inner boy and girl in you to grow, learn, love and live life to it's fullest.

The greatest actions in lives are the ones that are invisibly done with pure love, and you have done this. The fact it came at great personal cost should hammer out how awesome a person you are.

Because of this ... invest in the child in you and love you, and with the process and energy you have done successfully, you will live and be awesome.

If you feel ugh, therapists are the best on this tap it and never put a time of completion on it, but do realize the longer one lingers on the past in the current, it means no future.

We all want to see you with a bright and happy fulfilled future!
