Just be prepared as follow life’s journey as I watched it as a family member as dementia took my aunt’s. They were strong and independent women. Never married, took care of the farm and family, both worked through the 40s-80s as single women (you can imagine the strength of that), and lived a peaceful life.

My father said it was hard as they had to move from the house they were born in and wanted to die in, but they amassed enough wealth to pay for $10K/month end of life care for I want to say 10 years “and” they had enough left over to protect my father’s brother who lives on SSI/SDI and Social Security. It was enough I believe to help him last …

The moral of the story, they were both strong women, and watching them fade was heartbreaking. Every time I saw them they would squeeze my hand, and the last year … it was a struggle for them to squeeze and I knew it was the last.

I would cry on the flight out when that happened …

We always had a saying :) Aunt Eve was the spunky one (smart and fighter) so be the spunky one :D
