I have had a mbp 13" M1, mac mini m1, the mac book pro i7 and i9 (2019).
I also have the Lenovo Flex 5g 8cx gen1
It is a fantastic long lasting device, and given what I found with Windows 11. You need to have 16GB to unlock most of the potential of this guy, and it will handle most of what people need.
But kill the M1? No
I have actually created specialized AWK code and ran it in ubuntu on the 5g and did the same as the mac mini pro .... m1 had something like 47 minutes of run time and the 8cx gen 1 had an 70 minutes.
The i7 had 144 minutes ...
Would I look forward to having this? Absolutely, ARM is a fantastic thing especially since it runs cool (no rusted nuts) and last a very long time.
Picture leaving your intel based laptop on idle with the screen off. How long would it live? The Flex 5g is 3 days.
