One perspective for you to think about is women have been fighting this fight since suffrages in the last 19th century. Men now compliments of #metoo are now finally doing this (sadly).

So if we take that perspective with your belief view of six generations it makes sense. In America, Racism and sexism wasn't really ended until the 1960s (ERA/etc), so it really truly only has been 2-3 generations, which means one can actually know and feel the hands of inequality.

What bothers me a bit is people don't seem to truly appreciate how far things have gone. Certainly, things have to get better and be better, but if one only looks for the negative then life which is hard enough truly sucks.

But to appreciate it requires a strata of privilege, which some don't have, so there is that.

Be well.
