People make marriage into fairy tales because the joyous nature of it is rare, and people forget fairy tales were meant to "warn" people.

Make note in those fairy tales the only folks that were happy were the 1% and the extremely beautiful and all that.

Not a recipe for success.

People always talk to the sheer happiness of marriage and what I can share is the #1 guaranteed emotion that is unified the same across all couplings no matter the gender or sexuality is ...

Frustration.

It is the hardest thing two people can do in their lives, but also the most rewarding if boundaries and communication are built and maintained.

That also means negotiating every day and realizing what happened yesterday may not hold today and will not hold tomorrow.

It is why I am all for woman's empowerment and success so they can or desire not to have the relationships in their life.

I am also for guys having the same privilieges but most importantly trying to find a partner also that has their emotional safety also as long as they put the same work that women or their partners have put in.

Life is too short to make bad decisions, but too long not to try as long as both parties are honest and communicate as equal peers.

The reality is though that is fairy tale situation.
