The thing that disturbs me the most is how folks are bending over backwards to embrace male fragility and white knighting.
words battles words not fists
What would people have said if it was a white man going up there to hit him?
Would he have done the same thing if the comic/actor was bigger than him?
Do people not understand, so many people are dying, and yet violence under the guise of love dances near the same pot as putin who says ... say the word war and you go to jail or I am helping save people?
I know violence, and I know trauma. I as a man "know" proportional responses for loved one or women being attacked.
This was inappropriate. He could have been justified to go rush up there and take the mike, and respond with a statement. "You know my wife has health issues where she lost hair due to illness, shame on you."
Took the mike away or give it to the announcer. If Chris Rock escalated then more could be done.
But for those that are "ok" with violence (I am not in this instance), I would be more ashamed that the "bigger" Will Smith couldn't put down a little Chris Rock.
Both guys are in the wrong, but Will Smith given what he has sold America on love and all that jazz ... dances with hypocrisy.
