While I agree the comparison is there and risk analysis, this statement does a great disservice by the lack of empathy.
If one wishes more guys to do this, having your husband and other guys talk to this would sell the procedure a lot more.
As for the male birth control pill, It has passed testing, but it hasn't moved forward. This maybe a good thing for feminists and men to push for.
This should never be an "or" thing. It should be a hey, for the relationship lets look at the vasectomy because if no more children is desired, then this is a lower fatality risk for birth control. I
It does have a failure rate <1%, and reversal is 30-90% successful and per Cleveland Clinic there is 1-2% chance of testicular pain. So it could be permanent thing, and in general it won't be covered by insurance.
